Platform- Choosing the right platform to test your application on. Obviously, from the platform, we should not be limited to iOS/Android but also the device matrix for these operating systems which one should test the application depending upon the target markets in terms of OEM and OS versions. 

Functional - Each and every functional testing of the app from launching (splash screen) to User Interaction focusing on UI/UX to shutting down the app is a must. Doing some random interrupt testing like receiving messages and calls, changing the network from wifi to Cellular data should be kept in mind.

Notification Testing - They are the backbone of user engagement and also why we prefer Native Applications over mWeb and Hybrid. If the organization wants to get maximum ROI from Push Notifications each and every scenario related to Push must be covered.

Automation - The right automation strategy is a must for the product to be automated. The onus lies on the Mobile App tester to collaborate with the organization/QA COE to choose the right automation tool and framework.

App Store Guidelines - Don’t want to have your application rejected on AppStore apple or iTunes, then we seriously need to follow these guidelines. There have been multiple instances in my career where the apps get rejects because we fail to follow guidelines set by the App stores. Few examples being :

• App rejected due to In-app purchases.
• Using the Same code architecture when releasing applications in different regions.
• Coding standard not followed.
• Using some features without the knowledge of the end-user like Location tracking, Cameras, Photos, and Contacts.
